Author Guidelines

1. General Formatting Requirements

• File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).
• Maximum File Size: 2 MB (Authors are advised to compress files if necessary).
• Font: 12-point Times New Roman.
• Text Formatting: Single-spaced, fully justified (including references).
• Page Layout: 1-inch margins on all sides, A4 paper size (20.99 cm × 29.7 cm).
• Length: Maximum of 25 pages, inclusive of title, abstract, keywords, main text, references, tables, figures, and footnotes.
• Language: Manuscripts must be submitted in formal US English.
• Figures and Tables: Must be embedded within the text at the appropriate locations, not grouped at the end of the document. Ensure high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
• Citations: Authors must use Mendeley, Zotero, or a compatible reference management tool to format citations and references.
• Quotations and Special Terms: All direct quotations, including Qur'anic verses, Hadith, interview transcripts, excerpts from authoritative classical literature, and untranslated Arabic terms, must be formatted in italics and enclosed in "quotation marks" to ensure academic rigor and source authenticity.

2. Article Structure

• Full title of the article (concise, informative, and reflecting the behavioral/decision science focus).
• Author(s)’ full name(s), academic title(s), institutional affiliation(s), country, and email address(es).
• Indicate the corresponding author with an asterisk (*).

• A concise and factual summary of the research, limited to 150-250 words.
• Must include: the study’s purpose, methodology, key findings, originality/value, research limitations, and practical implications.
• SDG Alignment: Explicitly state which UN Sustainable Development Goal(s) the research contributes to (e.g., SDG 3, 8, 12, 16).
• Provide 4 to 7 keywords that best represent the main themes, separated by commas.

• Provide background context and the rationale for the study.
• Clearly state the research problem, research questions, or hypotheses.
• Crucial: Articulate the gap in existing behavioral/decision science literature and explain how Qur'anic/Hadith principles address this gap.
• Outline the objectives, significance of the study, and a brief overview of the article structure.

• Present a clear and detailed description of the research design (quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods).
• Specify data collection procedures, sampling techniques, instruments used, and ethical considerations.
• Describe data analysis methods with sufficient detail to allow replication (e.g., SEM-PLS parameters, thematic analysis coding).
• Justify methodological choices in relation to the research objectives.

• Present findings logically, using tables, figures, or charts where appropriate.
• Interpret results in relation to the research questions and existing behavioral science literature.
• Theological-Behavioral Bridge: Discuss how the empirical findings validate, refine, or challenge the initial exegetical (Tafsir) framework proposed in the introduction.
• Address unexpected findings, limitations, and implications for the UN SDGs.

• Summarize key findings and their theoretical/practical contributions to decision and behavioral sciences.
• Provide well-justified recommendations for policy, industry practice (e.g., app developers, organizational leaders), or future research.

• Recognize individuals, institutions, or funding agencies. Disclose any conflicts of interest.

• Follow APA 7th edition citation style precisely.
• Include only sources cited in the text.
• Interdisciplinary Requirement: References must include both reputable international empirical behavioral science journals (e.g., Elsevier, Springer, Emerald) AND authoritative classical/contemporary Tafsir and Hadith literature. Prioritize recent empirical research (last 5 years).

3. Policy on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use

• Any use of AI for language editing, translation, or formatting must be explicitly disclosed in the Acknowledgments section, specifying the tool name and its purpose.
• The use of AI to generate fabricated data, references, or core analytical content is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate rejection.

4. Special Guidelines: Integrating Qur'anic and/or Hadith Perspectives

• Method A: Instrument Adaptation: Adapt established behavioral scales while ensuring operational definitions align with the Qur'anic/Hadith perspectives.
• Method B: Instrument Development: When no suitable instrument exists, authors may develop new measurement items (must include validation steps like Aiken's V or Pilot testing).

5. Submission Preparation Checklist

• The manuscript reports original research that has not been previously published and is not under consideration by any other journal.
• The manuscript adheres to the formatting guidelines specified above (Word doc, <2MB, APA 7th, US English, single-spaced, fully justified).
• The main manuscript file is fully anonymized (free of author-identifying information) for double-anonymous peer review.
• The title page is provided as a separate document.
• The manuscript contains no plagiarism, data falsification, or fabrication.
• Methodological Compliance: If introducing a revelation-based variable, the manuscript explicitly details the exegetical grounding and instrument validation.
• SDG Alignment: The abstract and introduction clearly identify the specific UN SDG(s) addressed by the research.
• The study employs a robust empirical framework (Quantitative/Qualitative/Mixed/SLR) rather than purely normative theological discourse.
• AI Policy Compliance: Authors confirm compliance with the journal's AI policy, and any use of AI tools has been appropriately disclosed.
• Copyright & Licensing: Authors understand that they retain the copyright of their work, and the manuscript will be published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) upon acceptance.
• Publication Fees: Authors acknowledge that JQBS does not charge any Article Processing Charges (APCs), submission fees, or any other publication fees.
